How much do IT failures cost your business?
IT and general technology failures have to be one of the biggest costs to businesses. Not only is it affecting your business financially, it will also be having an effect of the productivity from your employees. According to a report from IT managed services provider, Manager 24/7, IT workplace technology failures could cost companies £35 billion per year. Such a large amount of money for problems that can be resolved by being up to date with changes in technology and also having onsite support for your business.
Whilst the cost will be affecting your business, the productivity will be more of an ongoing problem for you as technology issues will of course be costing you time and money. Employees and co-workers need to be doing the best they can on working days. Now if they are distracted by technology problems, this will cause lack of concentration whilst waiting for the issues to be resolved. The report also found that whilst IT failures cost you money and lower productivity, they also damage the quality of work being done. 32% from the survey performed, said that their workplace IT systems are harming their ability to do a good job; and this number rises to 37% for companies with more than 500 employees. To add to those high percentages and figures found by the report, another 44% of professionals said that they believe IT problems cost their company’s time and money, and 24% of those said that those problems also caused customers to complain. Which means this creates another issue; not only is the work not being done to the best of its ability, but it could be losing you vital clients and customers.
Even though this report may seem like it found out a lot of negative statistics, there is always a way to make sure your company is doing the best it can to prevent IT failures from happening and costing you all of the above – be on top of your IT support!
As mentioned in a previous post, onsite support will be one of the biggest benefits for your company and employees. Saving you time and money, it will also add reassurance to everything explained above for you. Time, cost, productivity can all be remedied if you make sure you have the support you need as a business owner. Rather than spending money on fixing your technology issues, make sure you have updates and better systems in place to prevent the issues. Being a business owner is stressful enough, by being ready and prepared for any failures, it will take away some of that stress from you. Stay aware and stay smart.
