If you are a business owner, have you ever wondered how much your business is giving back to a charity? It’s not a must to support charities as a business, but what a great way to give back to others and also encourage your employees to do the same. It can be as simple as organising small fundraisers or big corporate events, depending on what you choose to do. Options can be from charity fun runs, bake sales at work, events outside of the office such as quizzes, sports activity days and any team activities that not only helps a charity, but also bring your business team closer together.
If at this point, your business hasn’t collaborated with a charity, start researching into any specific ones that take your interest and you feel as though you can relate too and feel passionate about. It could also be an idea to get your staff involved and discuss everyone’s opinion on which charities they are interested to fundraise for via the business. As said previously, this is not just about the owners, but an office as a whole team working together to give back and do something great.
One of First Stop IT’s oldest clients, Blue Marine Travel, has recently started supporting the charity Marine Conservation Society. As they are a travel company who work with super yachts, they are fully aware of the environmental impact on the ocean through the effects of plastic. By realising they were passionate about this problem as a company, they are now supporting the Marine Conservation Society. To describe the charity in their own words ‘The Marine Conservation Society is the UK’s leading charity for the protection of our seas, shores and wildlife. For over thirty years MCS has been the voice for the sea for all the fascinating creatures that live beneath the waves, for our breath-taking coastal environment, for all those who make a sustainable living from the sea and for everyone who simply enjoys visiting the beach and our glorious coastline’. To learn more about this charity and the great work they do to save our oceans, please go ahead and visit their website https://www.mcsuk.org/.
Two employees from Blue Marine Travel are currently training to run a half marathon on behalf of the Marine Conservation Society. As explained earlier, fun runs are a great idea for employees to do. A half marathon is never easy, to say the least, so if you are reading this and would like to donate towards their fantastic cause, please see the link below to do so.
