Office 365 – if you have heard of it, great. If not, also great!

Here’s a quick explanation to keep you in the loop with this article. Office 365 is a brand name that Microsoft uses for a group of subscriptions that provide productivity software and related services. It benefits many people when it comes to their IT and software, but it seems to be the most beneficial to small business owners and here’s why.

Microsoft themselves describe it as ‘Office when and where you need it’. You can use it from any devices you may have including of course, your mobile phone. Not just Windows phones either, iOS and android users can also use it from their devices. All you need to start working from where you are, is a valid internet connection, office 365 does the rest for you. No need for VPN’s to access your office files.

Communicating with your team is a huge part of your work running a small business. Whether it be meetings, emails, phone calls. When using Office 365, it will sync everything for you including email, calendar and contacts. So, when you update a contact, it will be automatically updated across all your devices. Super useful, yes? You can also access any of your data and files from any device you use with Office 365. When you’re leaving the office, save anything to your PC and if needs be, pick it back up at home on another device. Because your files are stored online, you can share with anyone you need too, whenever you want too. They also have multi party HD video, shared calendars and team chats. Perfect to keep in touch with all your fellow colleagues and employees.

There is no doubt that everyone rarely has time to clean up their inboxes. I for one know that I have thousands of emails that are irrelevant and still sitting in my inbox waiting to be removed. No need to worry about this either, you get 50GB of email storage. That’s not the only great storage they include, 1TB of OneDrive online storage. This means that your data is completely safe, and due to being stored online in the cloud, if you do happen to lose a device and need to swipe everything – you can. Office 365 has built in security also. No need to fret about important data getting into the wrong hands.

One last thing, you can pay monthly for Office 365. No upfront costs or contract. You can change the amount of users you have at any point. Small business owners, if this hasn’t convinced you enough – feel free to do more research…and then still end up purchasing Office 365!
