Is OneDrive a good solution for me?

We have already advised on the many benefits Office 365 can add to your business, including one of the main benefits being their cloud storage. OneDrive is a file hosting service also operated by Microsoft, as part of their suite of Office Online services; it allows users to store and save their files as well as other personal information. Files can be synced to a PC and accessed from both a web browser and/or a mobile device, as well as shared publicly with other specific people if you choose to do so. Your information as a business is the most vital thing to keep safe and secure so finding the programs and best way for you personally, is important. It also means making things easier for you as business owner if you want to share specific information with your work colleagues or business partners. It’s accessible to any device you want it to be, which means working and saving whilst being on the move is also one of the bonuses.

Of course, having a great programme will help you with this but one important concern is backups. Make sure your files are constantly being backed up and don’t risk anything being hacked or lost in the system.  Not only should your system be backed up, but everyone else involved in the business with access to any information or office desktops used for work should do as well.  Anti-virus scans running will also be a huge benefit to prevent anything drastic happening in the work place.

Finally, if you’re running a business with a lot of equipment, can you remember the last time you got items tested? If not, you should probably do that again just to be sure. Testing must happen at the start of any live company, but it’s important to retest items every now and then just to be on the safe side. However, using OneDrive will also be a huge benefit to you and your business. You should always be trying to make things easier for you and your team to be able to communicate, and this will be one of the best ways to do so.
